Ray Disney - Trumpeter, Recording Artist, Producer and

Ray Disney has a long and colorful history of excellence
in music. His life in music started early with private
lessons with Ira Wright on the Trumpet growing up in
Baltimore, Maryland.  It carried over into his career in
Towson State University where he was 2nd trumpet in
the University’s Jazz ensemble and helped the director
Hank Levy with arranging and jazz improvisation.

Since then, Ray has had a multitude of achievements
and experiences under his belt. From 1972-1997 he was
the principal trumpet for the Gettysburg Symphony
Orchestra before founding the Baltimore Philharmonia
Orchestra in Maryland.  He is now Principal Trumpet and
Secretary/Treasurer for the Orchestra.

Ray has also made his mark in several other
organizations.  He is the founder and arranger
of the Weapons of Brass Construction, a jazz soloist with
the Hank Levy Alumni Band, and lead Trumpet/
Keyboards for The Admirals. Ray Disney is President
and Owner of Sonority Records, Inc., Ray Disney Group,
Inc, and Disnote Music, Inc, where he has worked with
artist Louie Cate featuring vocals by Trisha Yearwood,
Joe Diffie, Martina McBride, Billy Dean, Garth Brooks,
Clay Davidson, Rob Crosby, Ty Herndon, Sylvia, Gordon
Mote, & Alison Parson, many others.

Mercer Lee met Ray Disney through Mark Greene,
former lead singer of the Moments with hits “Not On the
Outside,” and “Love on a Two Way Street”. Mercer then
worked with Ray through Sonority Records to have
several original songs recorded. Since then, he and
Mercer have formed a long standing friendship.

Ray has now joined the AKAThisIsUs family. He is a
valued part of our group, and we look forward to seeing
and hearing more of Ray's expertise and skill.
